Lazio v Juventus

Igor Tudor’s reign at Lazio kicks off this weekend with the capital club praying for a New Manager Bounce against Juventus.

Maurizio Sarri resigned before the international break following their fifth defeat in six games with the Stadio Olimpico side languishing in ninth place in Serie A.

Former Juve defender Tudor is now the man being tasked with turning things around in Rome having managed at Hellas Verona and Udinese in the past.

It’s fair to say that Tudor’s time at both those sides was, at best, middling but the ex-Croatia international will have to hit the ground running if he’s to secure something on Saturday.

There’s arguably no better time to play the Bianconeri though with Juve having won just one of their last eight matches.

Real Madrid v Athletic Club

Could this be the weekend that Real Madrid tighten their grip on the Liga title or will Athletic Club shock Los Blancos and blow open the Spanish top flight?

It’s first versus fourth on Sunday night as the Basque giants travel to Santiago Bernabèu with Carlo Ancelotti’s side currently eight points clear at the top of the table.

With second-placed Barcelona hosting Las Palmas, a win is a must for the capital club who finally welcome back Jude Bellingham after his suspension ended.

One man who will be missing for Real Madrid though is Vinícius Júnior with the Brazilian sensation serving his own suspension for five yellow cards.

With Eduardo Camavinga also out having picked up an injury on international duty, Athletic must surely fancy their chances of providing one of the upsets of the campaign so far.

Marseille v Paris Saint-Germain

It’s time for another Le Classique in France with Marseille taking on Paris Saint-Germain in a battle of the Ligue 1 heavyweights.

With the season OM are having though, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this should be a relatively routine victory for the runaway league leaders.

PSG are currently 12 points clear at the top of the table having demolished Montpellier 6-2 in their last match before the international break.

Kylian Mbappé netted a stunning hat-trick in that clash and the Real Madrid-bound striker will surely be gunning to add to his nine goals scored against Marseille in 13 appearances.

Something that should be taken into account however is the lack of away fans at this fixture.

PSG supporters have been banned from attending on Sunday night with France’s interior minister, Gérald Darmanin, stating that he wanted to avoid the “real and serious risk of clashes between supporters”.

Bayern Munich v Borussia Dortmund

Germany’s two biggest sides lock horns on Saturday evening in what will be Thomas Tuchel’s final Der Klassiker as Bayern Munich boss.

The Bavarian giants host Borussia Dortmund but the sad fact – for these two sides at least – is that this is no title showdown, as has been the case in recent years.

With Bayer Leverkusen 10 points clear and seemingly incapable of losing a game this match-up at the Allianz Arena is a fight to be crowned the best of the rest.

Harry Kane will undergo a late fitness test before he’s declared capable of starting the match following an ankle injury but goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is likely to miss out with Sven Ulreich coming in as number one.

Dortmund meanwhile have no such worries with only Marcel Sabitzer unavailable through suspension.

This may not have the Bundesliga title on the line but it’s going to be a sensational occasion nonetheless.

Manchester City v Arsenal

In a weekend full of huge games across the continent, the biggest comes from the Etihad as Manchester City host Arsenal in what feels like a genuine title turning point.

The Gunners are currently leading the way in the Premier League on 64 points, just one ahead of City in third.

And with second-placed Liverpool taking on Brighton earlier on Sunday, a defeat for either of these sides could be damning come the end of the season.

Gabriel Martinelli netted the only goal of the game when these two teams last met in October with Mikel Arteta’s side yet to taste defeat against any of the big six this term.

If anyone can end that run though, it’s City with Pep Guardiola’s side making a habit of peaking just at the right time in recent years.

Things will be tough for the hosts though with John Stones, Kyle Walker and Ederson all likely to be missing through injury.

This game is, quite simply, unmissable.
