When the American enterprise bought the club from Andrea Radrizzani, they had hopes of making the Whites a force in English football once again.

Clearly, things haven’t gone to plan initially, but those ambitions remain in place at Elland Road.

Leeds United will need to invest if they win promotion to the Premier League

The gap between the Championship and the Premier League has become a talking point recently, as all three promoted clubs look set to be relegated for the second season in a row.

That's a clear sign that investment is needed upon promotion, but the money should be there for Leeds if they finish the job.

Of course, promotion to the Premier League is worth around an additional £100m in broadcast funds alone, and the Yorkshire club will bring in more revenue than some of their rivals due to the fan base.

So, a potentially hectic summer awaits at Leeds, and here we look at FIVE players they should try to bring in if they do hit the jackpot by returning to the elite…

Aaron Ramsdale

Bringing in a goalkeeper will be a priority for Leeds this summer.

Illan Meslier has endured a difficult campaign, with Daniel Farke finally dropping the Frenchman for Karl Darlow after a series of mistakes.

There have been links to Ramsdale, and it feels like a move that would suit all parties, as he will be desperate to get back in the Premier League following Southampton’s relegation.

Some will point out that relegation is a bit of a theme for Ramsdale in his career, but you have to look at the clubs he has been with. Just a few years ago, he was impressive for Arsenal as they chased the title, so it’s hard to say he isn’t a massive upgrade on what Leeds have right now.

Adrien Truffert

Another area that will need to be addressed is left-back.

Junior Firpo has been brilliant for Leeds this season, but his contract is up and there is talk he could return to Spain. Plus, there are doubts about his defensive ability in the top-flight.

Therefore, a new recruit would make sense, and Rennes’ Adrien Truffert would be ideally suited to Farke’s system, as he is capable going forward, as well as solid defensively.

Everton were monitoring the player in January, so a deal wouldn’t be straightforward, but the 23-year-old could solve Leeds’ left-back issue for the years to come.

Nico Raskin

The Rangers midfielder has been a standout figure at Ibrox in what has been an inconsistent campaign for the Glasgow outfit.

There were high hopes for Raskin when he joined from Standard Liege, but he took time to settle in Scotland.

Now, he is showing what the hype was about. He is excellent in possession, he covers ground well, and he plays with personality, something that Leeds will need. Such form has seen Raskin called up to the Belgium squad, and he did well in the recent international break for his country.

With 49ers looking to buy Rangers, negotiations won’t prove that difficult, and going to the Premier League feels like the right next step for Raskin at this stage of his career.

Martin Baturina

Leeds will be in the market for a number ten as well, with fans frustrated that this wasn’t addressed last summer.

Dinamo Zagreb’s Baturina is someone that Leeds have looked at before, with previous reports stating they made a £25m offer, but the player didn’t want to join.

That was understandable last summer, as Leeds were in the Championship. It’s a different story if they can offer Premier League football.

The Croatian is seen as a future star for his country, and he has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in the world. But, Leeds should be able to offer first-team football, something the others may not.

This would be an expensive deal, and some will argue it’s unrealistic, but it would be a statement signing that shows Leeds mean business if they can pull it off.

Jonas Wind

Finally, Leeds will also be in the market for a number nine, and Wolfsburg’s Wind has the profile they should be targeting. Farke’s knowledge of German football is well-documented, so it would make sense for the club to look at the Bundesliga.

A physical number nine seems to be back in fashion nowadays, and Wind could do that role for Leeds.

The ex-Copenhagen man is comfortable with his back to goal, and he can link play effectively. Crucially, he also scores goals, having found the net 11 times last season, and he is on for double figures again.

With his contract expiring in 2026, a deal is there to be done, and he could be the new focal point for this Leeds attack in the Premier League.
