However, not much rest for many of the Newcastle United players despite NUFC pre-season starting on 1 July, with a sizeable number set for international duty in the first couple of weeks of June.

The club having already confirmed five Newcastle United players are going to be linking up with national squads.

Chris Wood’s summer fixtures include an all or nothing match, where the winners of New Zealand v Costa Rica will be going to the World Cup finals in Qatar in November / December.

Kieran Trippier has managed to reach full fitness with Newcastle United, just in time to link up with England for four Nations League matches and a get together that looks sure to go a long way towards Gareth Southgate deciding his final squad for Qatar.

Elliot Anderson has been named in the Scotland Under 21 squad but it remains to be seen what happens longer-term with both England and Squad interested in the 19 year old midfielder.

Meanwhile Fabian Schar will be joining up with the Switzerland squad.

A hectic time for many Newcastle United players but maybe no one more so than Bruno Guimaraes. He is part of a Brazil squad that are playing in South Korea, Japan and then Australia on the 2nd, 6th and 11th of June, that final match sees them playing Argentina at the Melbourne cricket ground.
