Major League Soccer giants LAFC have made headlines once again after reportedly securing Olivier Giroud's signature, showcasing their ability to attract experienced European stars in the twilight of their careers.

The Black and Gold have brought in another high-profile veteran figure, finally bringing their search for a striker to and end. LAFC's front office have been hard at work looking to bring in a top-level center-forward after playing most of the 2023 season with club legend Carlos Vela playing out of position up front.

The addition of Giroud is just another example of how the 2022 MLS Cup winners continue to bring in players from abroad who've won just about everything -- from Champions League titles to World Cup trophies.

Here's the five biggest signings in LAFC's short yet successful history.

5. Hugo Lloris - 2024

As Hugo Lloris' time with Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur came to its conclusion, the Black and Gold came calling back in the winter transfer window in January -- in which the 37-year-old answered. You don't captain your country to a World Cup title without becoming one of the club's most biggest signings ever, and the former Lyon player will hope to be on contention for the Goalkeeper of the Year award at the end of 2024.

4. Olivier Giroud - 2024

Even though Giroud hasn't played a single minute yet for LAFC, he's already one of the team's biggest signings ever. The France international is reunited with fellow Frenchman Hugo Lloris, as the two will play together at the club level for the first time ever with Giroud looking to add to his spectacular goal catalogue and trophy haul.

3. Giorgio Chiellini - 2022

LAFC wouldn't have lifted the 2022 MLS Cup had it not been for Italian legend Giorgio Chiellini's leadership at the back. The former Juventus figure traded his homeland for the warm and sunny Los Angeles weather in the summer of 2022 and immediately formed one of the strongest center-back partnerships in MLS alongside Jesus Murillo.

2. Carlos Vela - 2018

Vela might not be the most famous name on this list, but he was still a huge addition for the Black and Gold ahead of their first MLS season back in 2018. His decision to depart La Liga outfit Real Sociedad to join LAFC has looked like a masterstroke after he amassed 147 goal involvements in 188 games while lifting four titles in the process.

1. Gareth Bale - 2022

Gareth Bale played just 14 times for the Black and Gold after joining in July 2022, but he still left an undeniable impact on MLS with his 128th minute strike to send the 2022 MLS Cup final to penalty kicks. The former Wales international still managed three goals for the Western Conference club and comfortably remains the biggest signing in the team's history after his arrival just over two years ago.
