The Rossoneri wings are strengthened with the arrival of Filippo Terracciano, the first new face of the January transfer market session. Let's get to know the 2003-born player with some fun facts and anecdotes.

From the father Antonio to Filippo, football is a family matter in the Terracciano household. Filippo Terracciano is a son of the art, born in 1966, his father was a midfielder before retiring from professional football a year before Terracciano jr. arrived. Like his father, Filippo came up through the Hellas Verona Youth Sector, playing in various age categories. Antonio is now an ambassador for the Gialloblù. He picked up 30 total appearances for Verona, making his Serie A debut in 1987 after two seasons out on loan at Mantova. Then, various spells at Triestina, Carpi, Brescello, Fiorenzuola, Carrarese, Mantova again, and Valenzana. "He always gave me just one piece of advice: the difference between a good player and a professional is the head, the mentality” - Filippo shared.

ANTONIO AND COACH PIOLI His father, Antonio, knows the current Rossoneri Coach well. Terracciano senior and Stefano Pioli shared a locker room as teammates for several years. Stefano in defence and Antonio in the midfield. Both played two consecutive seasons with Hellas Verona, in 1987/88 and 1988/89, before also joining up again at Fiorenzuola in 1997/98 season. They also challenged AC Milan together in the Coppa Italia in September 1988: both featured in the starting XI of the 1-1 draw at San Siro that saw goals from Baresi and Caniggia.

TRAILBLAZER He will turn 21 in February, but Filippo already boasts 41 appearances and 2 assists between Serie A and the Coppa Italia. After his debut in the Coppa Italia on 15 February 2021, his first appearance in Serie A came on 20 March 2022 and since then, Terracciano has come a long way. At just 20 years old, the young player has also had the privilege of wearing the captain’s armband for Hellas Verona: this honour for someone who came up through their youth sector came on 3 December 2023, in the final moments of the clash in Udine. It was Ivan Jurić who noticed him, immediately seeing his potential, even if his senior debut came later with Igor Tudor on the bench. Filippo is grateful: "I owe everything to Coach Jurić, he was the first to believe in me and he is the coach who helped me become a professional".

ONLY ONE PREVIOUS MEETING AND SAN SIRO It has only been a few days since his official arrival with the Rossoneri, but Filippo has already stopped by San Siro this season, to face AC Milan. He played 89 minutes on the left of the 1-0 victory for the Rossoneri, thanks to a goal from Leão, in September 2023. Terracciano showed his qualities by creating 3 chances. Who inspires him? Idols of the footballing world, CR7 above all. But it’s not only him for Filippo who admitted to following the example of the late Kobe Bryant, a big Rossoneri fan, for his “intelligence and ways of working”.
