It was a thrilling night at Stamford Bridge as ten-man Arsenal launched a stunning comeback to draw 2-2 with Chelsea.
Here are three points we took from the game …
Erling Haaland looks like he was created in a lab, designed to score goals through brute force and power.
But Gabriel Martinelli was sent down by the Football Gods.
The 18-year-old has now scored ten goals this season, becoming the first teenager to achieve that feat for Arsenal since Nicolas Anelka in 1998/99.
His work rate, speed and movement are all sensational – but his innate knack for goals is what makes him so exciting.
Martinelli has been a true bright spark in an otherwise disappointing campaign.
Chelsea looked to have the game all but secured against ten men, but their hour of football following Luiz’s dismissal was far from convincing.
Their possession was safe and directionless. The press that served them so well early on was halted. They couldn’t handle Arsenal in transition.
The Blues fortunately find themselves ahead through César Azpilicueta and what do they do? Retreat and concede a pathetic goal minutes later.
Frank Lampard has done an impressive job this season but in moments like this, you can feel their youthfulness protruding. Plenty to work on.
We are genuinely speechless. It’s 2020 and somehow Shkodran Mustafi is still starting for Arsenal.
The Gunners have been unfortunate with injuries to Rob Holding and Calum Chambers, plus illness to Sokratis, but this man should be nowhere near their first eleven.
His under-hit backpass put Tammy Abraham through on goal and Luiz – in a desperate attempt to get back – fouled him after rounding Bernd Leno.
Penalty. Red card. Lucky not to be game over? It’s often said that cats have nine lives, but Mustafi must be on his 47th by now.
Wow! We’ve just about caught our breath after a ridiculously ill-disciplined 90 minutes of football.
This fiercely contested tie had defensive howlers, red cards, individual goals, late comebacks and was played at a frightening pace – particularly in the last half hour.
Chelsea will be fuming to drop points in these circumstances but ultimately, this is what you want to see.
Long live the Barclays. Inject it into our veins.
