The January transfer window is now firmly behind us - something that surely comes as a relief to Norwich City and their supporters.

Indeed, given the speculation surrounding one of their players last month, Canaries supporters will have been eagerly awaiting the transfer deadline and hoping for no news.

The player in question, of course, is young Norwich City star Jonathan Rowe.

The 20-year-old is having a fine season at Carrow Road, scoring 12 goals in 28 Championship appearances, and it has not gone unnoticed.

Indeed, throughout January, a number of clubs were linked with a potential move for the winger, including Premier League sides..

This included the likes of Spurs and Brentford, and Italian giants Lazio also made a late effort to land the Canaries' man.

Of course, in the end, Rowe remained at Carrow Road, but if his performances continue to impress, there's no doubt he will attract interest again in the summer.

With that in mind, below, we've discussed four potential players Norwich City could target to replace him.

In doing so, we've looked at a number of options, with some proven Championship options, and others who are thriving to get to that level.

Manuel Benson

The first name we'd look at if we were Norwich City would be Burnley's Manuel Benson, who operates mainly on the right, but can also play on the left.

The Belgian was brilliant for the Clarets when in the Championship, but is seemingly out of favour at Turf Moor now that they're in the Premier League.

Of course, Burnley would likely have to stay up for this one to be feasible, but the 21-year-old's 12 goals and three assists in the Championship mean he could be an exciting addition at Carrow Road.

Burnley were reportedly close to letting him leave the club in January, so it could be the case that he is available once again in the summer.

Chris Willock

A completely different option the club could go for if Rowe departs is someone like QPR wide man Chris Willock.

Willock plays predominantly on the left, but can also operate on the right flank.

The 26-year-old is out of contract at Loftus Road this summer, and seems as though he is destined to exit, particularly with the club in the relegation zone at present.

Willock has shown previously he is more than capable of producing goals and assists in the Championship and on a free transfer, he could be a cost-effective solution to Rowe's potential departure.

Kwame Poku

Whilst the options above are proven at Championship level, one name that is not yet, but could be worth considering, is Kwame Poku.

The Peterborough United attacker is having a tremendous season down in League One, where he has eight goals and eight assists in league competition.

The 22-year-old's current deal expires in 2025, and if Norwich wanted to get a player on the up, a deal could be there to be made for the one-cap Ghana international.

Like the other names on this list, Poku can operate on both flanks, and even through the middle in an attacking midfield role.

Paddy Lane

Last but not least, another up-and-coming option, and another from League One, could be Portsmouth's 22-year-old star Paddy Lane.

Like Poku, Lane is having a fine season in the third tier, with 10 goals and seven assists in 30 matches so far.

Again, Lane is another comfortable operating on both flanks, and he has done so at Fratton Park this season.

With a contract until 2026 and potential promotion for Portsmouth on the cards, however, this could be a tricky deal to get done for the Canaries.
