Coventry City will now be looking to build up the quality and depth of their current squad ahead of the upcoming season, with the Sky Blues sure to be aiming for a higher finish than they achieved in the 2020/21 campaign.

Mark Robins continues to work wonders in the Midlands and will surely see their return to the Ricoh Arena as a major positive, with fans hopefully due to follow in the next few months as the world slowly returns to normal.

Here, we take a look at EIGHT Coventry City transfer dealings that we could see emerge in the next few weeks.

The former Chelsea midfielder is a player who is said to have trained with Coventry recently and could well be on the move this summer, with his current contract set to expire with Swedish side Ostersunds.

Colkett has previous experience of playing at Football League level for the likes of Bristol Rovers, Swindon and Shrewsbury Town and would be an interesting addition for the club to make.

It is said that the Sky Blues are very keen to tie down the midfielder on a permanent deal and they could well offer the player a route back into the English game.

Coventry originally brought in the experienced Leicester City man on a loan deal with an option to buy back in January and activating that option this summer could well be something that Robins has in the pipeline for his side going forwards.

James has played at both Premier League and EFL level and would be an important addition in theory for the club going forwards as they look to become established in the Sky Bet Championship over the next few years.

At the age of 29, he is sure to be keen to stay put at a club where he is likely to play regularly.

The young Wigan Athletic frontman was previously linked with a move to the Sky Blues back in April by Football Insider and he could well be the striking reinforcement that the club requires to take their Championship performances to a whole new level heading into the new season.

Lang is sure to want to leave Wigan after a tough season with the Sky Bet League One season and a jump up the divisions could well appeal to him if an offer is forthcoming for his services in the near future.

Coventry would face competition for the player and would have to be on their game to nab him ahead of others.

The Dorking Wanderers youngster is a player that Coventry are said to be keeping tabs on after his emergence in recent months with the non league side and they could well make a move for his services in the next few months.

Allen only recently signed his first professional deal with the lower league side and is said to have been watched by the Sky Blues in recent weeks as they weigh up whether to make a move for the teenager or not moving forwards.

The midfielder would be a player that they could develop over time and would certainly be a bright prospect for the future.

The combative midfield player has been strongly linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks after a brilliant debut season for the Sky Blues and is said to be of interest to the recently relegated West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies will be looking to rebuild under Sam Allardyce after their Premier League exit was confirmed and it is said that they view the Brazilian born player as the ideal new recruit for the centre of the park.

Given that Hamer only signed for Coventry just under a year ago, it would be fair to assume that he would command a significant fee if he did leave.

As one of a good few Coventry players who are heading into the summer out of contract, it appears likely that Bakayoko is set to be one of a group that departs the Midlands based outfit in search of a new challenge.

The striker has found himself way down the pecking order this term after the arrivals of Tyler Walker and Viktor Gyokeres on loan and as a result he is likely to want to move to a new side that can offer him a regular starting spot.

The target man is sure to have various options available to him after racking up over 80 appearances for the Sky Blues.

The left back was shipped out on loan by the Sky Blues earlier in the campaign and seemingly doesn’t feature in their plans going forwards despite still having a year left on his contract with the Midlands at present.

Coventry will be fully aware that they need to move on some fringe players in order to facilitate new recruits coming in and it appears likely that Mason could be one that they look to move on as we head into the summer.

Still aged 23, the full back is still developing his all round game and could be a good addition for a lower league EFL side.

The Dutch forward is a player who appears likely to depart for pastures new this summer after being loaned out to Scottish side Hearts and hasn’t made the impact for the Sky Blues that many would have hoped for when he originally arrived in the Midlands back in July 2019.

Kastaneer has only played 18 times under Robins and after scoring just once during his two years on the club’s books, it would appear that he is in need of a fresh start in order to breathe new life into what is a stuttering career.

Having hardly played whilst out on loan, he will be hoping to secure a regular starting spot elsewhere if he does move on permanently.
