Four highly-regarded up-and-coming members of the youth setup at La Liga giants Barcelona played their part in the club’s latest training session on Wednesday.
Xavi’s troops, for their part, reconvened at the Ciutat Esportiva earlier today.
After being afforded a day of rest on Tuesday, following their exploits in putting Las Palmas to the sword over the weekend, Barca kicked their preparations for next week’s return to action on the continent back into gear.
The Blaugrana are of course set to lock horns with French champions Paris Saint-Germain next Wednesday night, in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie between the clubs.
The sidelined quintet of Gavi, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Andreas Christensen and Alejandro Balde aside, all of the most prominent members of Xavi’s squad were in turn put through their paces, at full pelt.
And joining such stars in group training, as alluded to above, were four players from the youth ranks in Catalunya’s capital.
As per a report from Relevo’s Alex Pintanel, all of Marc Casadó, Mamadou Mbacke, Pau Prim and Alexis Olmedo were afforded a fresh chance to impress at senior level this afternoon.
So close to next week’s crunch PSG clash, as much will no doubt be taken as a sign of confidence from Xavi on the part of all four, albeit with it remaining to be seen whether any will be called up for matchday duties in Paris.
