Luton Town secured a priceless away point against Bristol City last night thanks to a late goal from substitute Danny Hylton.

Nathan Jones and his team battled hard to stay in the game after falling a goal behind to a Nathan Baker header just short of the hour mark and were rewarded for their dogged display as Hylton made the desired impact after coming on.

The result leaves the Hatters sitting in 13th place after seven games played, underlining that there is still work to do for the Kenilworth Road club if they are to progress and start to look further up the league standings.

However, Jones and his staff will certainly take solace from the from the fact that they have seen their side fight back from being behind in the last two games and will certainly see it as something that they can build on.

It could be argued that the Hatters could have been out of sight by half time in the game at Ashton Gate, with the away side racking up a total of 18 shots throughout the 90 minutes.

Missed chances have certainly been costing the club of late and it will certainly be an area that they want to address fast.

Despite not being clinical enough in recent games, the amount of chances being created is sure to bode well for the future as they look to improve their form in the long run.

If they can start tucking away their chances, there is no reason why they won’t start moving further up the standings.

Henri Lansbury impresses again

Lansbury once again shone for the Hatters during this game and is proving to be an inspired summer signing by the club.

The July arrival was clearly keen to show his former club exactly what they are missing and was adept at not only dictating the tempo when on the ball but also helping to break up opposition attacks.

His partnership in midfield with Luke Berry is working wonders so far and the hope will be that they continue to function well as a pair.

The 30-year-old is certainly showing that Bristol City may have been wrong to let him leave so easily.

Good point despite injuries

Luton coped remarkably well during the game despite having seen Sonny Bradley ruled out through injury not long before kick off at Ashton Gate.

Picking up points on the road is tough enough, but to do it with the amount of players that they have on the sidelines is all the more impressive.

If anything it shows the strength of the squad depth that they have and the hope will be now that they can turn these draws into wins.

With players set to return to the fold, Jones could have a selection headache on his hands.
