Luton Town remain winless in the Championship after they were defeated 2-0 by Bristol City last night.
The Robins, who eased their way to their first victory of this second-tier campaign, led through first-half goals from Nahki Wells and Tommy Conway.
Controlling the game for large parts, the hosts were reduced to ten men midway through the second half, when Mark Sykes was shown a red card for a tackle on Luke Freeman.
Here, we take a look at three things we learnt about the Hatters after their 2-0 defeat at Ashton Gate…
Hatters are miles away from how they finished last season
Strengthening the squad in the summer, and enjoying a successful pre-season, it is quite a surprise that the Hatters have not been able to start on the front foot.
The draws against Birmingham City and Burnley certainly provided hope that they could enjoy a similar degree of success as last year, however, the latest two displays have been poor.
Luton struggled to find any rhythm against Bristol City yesterday evening, with misplaced passes and a general lack of quality becoming a theme throughout the 90 minutes.

Scoring goals is an issue
Bringing in the likes of Carlton Morris, Cauley Woodrow and Luke Freeman, it is fair to say that the frontline has bolstered, on paper at least.
However, Luton have now scored once in their opening four Championship matches, with the creation of chances, and displays from forward personnel certainly lacking.
Confidence levels are very low at the moment, and whilst it has been a disappointing start, there is every chance that they can rediscover their form in front of goal.
Unavailability still too high
The number of injuries that Luton continue to pick up is still at a very high level.
Although the recruitment Luton have conducted over the summer means that the squad is still strong, from a numbers perspective, the likes of Luke Berry, Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu, Dion Pereira, Harry Cornick, Henri Lansbury and Alfie Doughty are all currently sidelined.
Of course, injuries are part and parcel of the game itself but six first-team players, who would all be pushing for first-team contention, is too high of a number.
