Wilson working wonders

Callum Wilson has endured some awful luck with injuries, but he’s back, sharp and firing on all cylinders.

His brace against Everton highlighted his goalscoring versatility – both as a poacher and composed finisher – which are often underrated.

Raheem Sterling (22G 10A) is also the only Englishman with more direct goal involvements than him (17G 9A) since the start of last season.

Wilson deserves all the plaudits coming his way.

Toffees troubled in defence

Everton were tipped to potentially challenge the top six this season, but they won’t with defending like this.

Yerry Mina and Michael Keane were awful. Rarely on the same wavelength, out of position and painfully sluggish when running back towards goal.

Lucas Digne has been an astute signing but he leaves gaps, much like Seamus Coleman, which isolates the defensive pair.

Wilson and Joshua King had it easy, and Marco Silva has a problem on his hands.

Are you not entertained?

Despite us mainly focusing on Everton’s leaky defence, Bournemouth were hardly solid which made for an entertaining affair.

With the game evenly poised at 1-1, both sides had chances to score and play resembled basketball at times – end to end at breakneck speed.

Ultimately, this is what we watch football for and even though end product was lacking, we enjoyed both sides playing open, expansive football.

Deficiencies need to be addressed but we were entertained!
