Alexandre Lacazette has denied he is having issues with the Lyon boss, Peter Bosz, but there does seem to be something going on.

Lyon’s Dutch coach Peter Bosz answers to journalists’ questions during a press conference at the Groupama stadium in Decines-Charpieu near Lyon, central eastern France, on April 13, 2022, on the eve of the UEFA Europa League quarter final second leg football match between Olympique Lyonnais (OL) and West Ham United. Alexandre Lacazette was delighted to return home to Lyon and scored just minutes into his debut friendly for the club.

After that first game, however, Lyon’s manager Peter Bosz said of Lacazette, “I saw an intelligent centre-forward, who fortunately scored very quickly.

“So, that’s already good for him. Of course, compared to the game of his teammates, he will have to learn.

“But he’s a good player.”

Nothing quite like your new boss damning you with faint praise.

Then, on a training camp in the Netherlands ahead of a pre-season friendly against Feyenoord, Lacazette was attacked by wasps, receiving 12 stings.

Now, there are reports that he has had something of a falling out with Bosz at halftime during that match, an allegation than the former Arsenal man denies.

Foot Mercato report, via Get France Football News, that “a tactical disagreement between Peter Bosz and Alexandre Lacazette (31) has led to a confrontation between the pair.”

The allegations claim that Bosz had asked Lacazette to play in a certain position but the forward did not do as asked.

GFFN report that Lacazette had the backing of his teammates some of whom apparently “neither understand all of Bosz’s instructions nor his game plan”.

Wearing the 91, Lacazette scored a great goal in the first half of the match, before the alleged argument.

While the alleged disagreement was not said to be ‘over the top’ is is described as not ‘trivial’.

Lacazette, however, denies there is a problem, speaking in true 21st century language by using three Pinocchio emojis.

Lacazette still hasn’t been given an official shirt number at Lyon as he waits to see if the 9 or 10 become available.

The 9 is currently on the back of Moussa Demeble while the 10 is worn by reported Arsenal target, Lucas Paqueta.
