Three players that are likely to leave Norwich City this summer
Norwich City will be aiming to compete for promotion to the Premier League once again next season.
David Wagner guided the Canaries to a sixth place finish in the table in the previous campaign, but a play-off semi-final defeat to Leeds United ended their hopes of a top flight return.
This led to Wagner’s dismissal, with a 4-0 loss at Elland Road proving to be his final game in charge of the Norfolk outfit.
Johannes Hoff Thorup has since been placed in charge of the first team squad, as he now prepares the club for another promotion push in 2025.
The summer transfer window affords the Dane the chance to make changes, but it could also see some names depart Carrow Road as well.
Adam Idah spent the second half of last season on loan at Celtic, where he earned a lot of plaudits for his performances.
The striker had struggled to stay ahead of Josh Sargent in the pecking order at Carrow Road, which led to his temporary departure.
But eight goals in 15 games in Scotland has ignited transfer speculation that he could complete a permanent move to Parkhead this summer (all stats from Fbref).
Celtic have seen a bid in the region of £4 million rejected already, but it could only be a matter of time before the forward is on the move back to Glasgow.
Gabriel Sara impressed last season for Norwich, contributing 13 goals and 12 assists in the league as the team narrowly missed out on promotion.
This has led to speculation over his future, with Italian giants Roma being linked with a move for the midfielder.
It remains to be seen what kind of asking price the Canaries might set for the Brazilian, but the opportunity to move to Serie A will be very tempting.
If the right offer arrives, then Sara will surely be keen to jump at the chance to play top flight football next season.
This puts a lot of doubt over his future at Carrow Road and will have supporters nervous until the window shuts at the end of August.
Jonathan Rowe was a breakout star of the previous campaign, emerging from the academy as a first-team regular.
The forward contributed 12 goals and two assists from 32 appearances in the league, becoming a key part of Wagner’s plans.
But it has also led to speculation over his future at Carrow Road, with a number of clubs linked with a move for the winger.
It has been reported that Wolves are interested in the 21-year-old, with Gary O’Neil keen to improve his attacking options for next season.
If a bid in the region of £20 million arrives, then it will prove very difficult for Norwich to keep hold of the talented youngster.
The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be very tempting, so it could be a long wait until 30 August for supporters to wait and see if he remains at Carrow Road for next season.
