3. Liga club 1. FC Kaiserslautern will file for insolvency after amounting debts of around €24 million, made worse following the coronavirus pandemic, according to several reports.
€15 million is needed to play in the 3. Liga next season with a media briefing expected on Monday. As Kicker point out, it’s a unique opportunity for Kaiserslautern to start over.
Per the report, creditors are only ready to defer the loan by one year, which gives the 3. Liga club a chance to raise funds. Because of the pandemic, Kaiserslautern won’t face a nine-point deduction.
