Netting nine goals in 21 Championship appearances thus far this season, the wide attacker is the second tier’s joint-top goalscorer.

Whilst we wait and see how the forward’s situation plays out, here, we take a look at three EFL alternatives to Brereton Diaz…

Iliman Ndiaye

Undoubtedly one of the most talented players in the division, Iliman Ndiaye is one player who could quite easily feature on a number of Premier League clubs’ radars in January.

Thriving up front alongside Oli McBurnie this season, the Sheffield United man has also netted nine times in the Championship thus far.

Ndiaye is a player who can operate on the wing, up front or as an advanced midfielder and would therefore provide Frank Lampard with lots of versatility, whilst there is no doubting whether or not he has the ability to justify a top-tier move.

Quiz: Can you identify each of these 24 ex-Everton players just by looking at 3 clues?

Ismaila Sarr

A few tried and failed in the summer but Ismaila Sarr is someone else who provides versatility in attacking positions and would be a good target for Everton to consider.

A forward who is all about power, pace, carving defences open and scoring goals, there is certainly scope for Sarr to thrive in the Premier League once more.

Joao Pedro is the pick of the bunch when it comes to Watford’s attackers, however, Sarr has proven to deliver in big moments for the Hornets.

Anass Zaroury

A player that is a little less versatile than the aforementioned duo, Anass Zaroury is someone of extremely exciting quality.

The winger has netted four times and has provided a further two assists in 13 Championship appearances thus far, and he has proven to be a consistent source of creativity for the Clarets.

Possessing quality of the higher level, Burnley’s push for automatic promotion would make a deal like this rather difficult to negotiate.
