Three Arsenal players will be at risk of a yellow-card suspension when they play against Manchester United at the weekend.

With Arsenal set to play their 19th game of the Premier League season against Manchester United on Sunday, they have a number of players still at risk of a yellow-card suspension.

Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, and Gabriel Jesus have all picked up four yellow cards in the Premier League so far.

Though Jesus’ injury rules out any possibility that he’ll pick up a fifth card at the weekend, Saka, Gabriel, and Saliba will all go into the game knowing that a booking would see them suspended for the away game against Everton.

That’s due to the Premier League rules that any player who receives five bookings in their side’s first 19 games will receive a one-match ban.

Yellow cards and yellow-card suspensions are not carried over to or from the cup competitions or the Europa League.

Even after the United game, Saka, Gabriel, and Saliba will all want to minimise the number of yellow cards they pick up for the next few months.

Players who pick up 10 yellow cards before completing their team’s 32nd fixture serve a two-match ban, which could result in a pivotal absence for Arsenal – if it applies to any of the above trio.

For example, if Arsenal’s postponed home game against Everton takes place at some point before April 29th, then Arsenal’s 33rd and 34th Premier League games would be against Manchester City and Chelsea.

A 10th yellow card in the 32nd match would rule the carded player out of both games.

That’s not something to worry about right now, but it’s just a reminder that Arsenal’s most regularly booked players won’t be completely out of the woods after Sunday.
