Real Madrid were unable to end their trip to Mexico with a win after Club América raced into a 3-0 lead in the first 55 minutes. Our team did not give up, however, and went in search of a comeback. Feller and Athenea reduced the deficit for Toril's side, as they came close to finding an equaliser at the Azteca Stadium.

The first chance of the match fell to Real Madrid as Kathellen headed over from a Zornoza cross. Club América went 1-0 up through Angélica, but Toril's team were almost level in the 22nd minute. Great individual play from Linda, who cut inside the box but her curling shot was narrowly wide of the target. Just as our team were looking the better side, the Mexicans doubled their lead when Hecnary scored from a free-kick. Weir had a chance to pull one back before the break, but Itzel made a good save to keep out a free-kick.

Feller and Athenea on the scoresheet

Club América made it 3-0 after the break through Katty Martinez. However, Madrid reduced the deficit in the 71st minute when Feller capitalised on a rebound from Weir's free-kick. Toril's side made it 3-2 soon after. Feller was denied one-on-one by Itzel, but the ball fell to Athenea in the box for Madrid's second. In the closing stages of the game, there were chances to equalise but there was no further change in the scoreline.
