Bristol Rovers manager Joey Barton will be looking to bring a feel-good factor back to the Memorial Stadium this season following a disappointing 2020/21 campaign which culminated in relegation from League One.

Whilst the Gas have made an underwhelming start to the current term, there is still plenty of time for Barton to turn things around.

If the 39-year-old is able to guide Rovers back to the third-tier in the not too distant future, he will follow in the footsteps of Darrell Clarke and Paul Trollope who both secured promotion from this division during their respective spells at the club.

Whereas Clarke and Trollope achieved a relative amount of success with the Pirates, some of the club’s former managers ultimately failed to live up to expectations.
