With the way the frontline of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal is playing this season, it is very difficult for any other of their attacking players to get a regular starting role in this FC Barcelona team.
This is true even for a forward like Ferran Torres, who usually takes full advantage of any playing opportunities that come his way.
Although the Valencian is not a fixed starter for Hansi Flick this season, he has still played an important role in the team, and has already played 30 games this season, 19 of them in La Liga.
As a result, there are chances that he will also feature in the upcoming league game against Osasuna, and as SPORT has noted, if he plays in that game, he will reach the milestone of 100 La Liga games with Barcelona.
Since arriving at the Catalan club from Manchester City in 2022-23 for €55 million fixed and another €10 million promised in variables, the Spaniard has remained under the microscope in these last three years.
However, he has clearly shown progress in his game and mentality, and this has helped him get a total of 143 appearances across all competitions for the Blaugrana team. 99 of these games have come in La Liga, 19 in the UEFA Champions League, 11 in the Copa del Rey, 8 in the UEFA Europa League, and 6 in the Spanish Super Cup.
In these 143 games, he has scored a total of 36 goals. 20 of these goals were scored in La Liga, 8 in the UCL, 6 in Copa del Rey, and 2 in UEL. Spanish Super Cup remains the only competition where Torres has been unable to score since his move to Barcelona.
His favourite opponent up to now has been Real Betis, against whom he has scored 5 times. He has also scored 2 times against the likes of Villarreal, Osasuna, Real Madrid, Mallorca, Las Palmas, and Elche.
With Lewandowski likely to be rested in the upcoming game against Osasuna, the Spanish forward might get to mark his 100 league games with another goal.
