Dan Crowley spent a few years in the Arsenal academy, joining in 2014 before departing for Willem II in 2017.

He then signed for Birmingham for a reported £750k fee but has now joined Hull City on loan in what the Hull Daily Mail are calling ‘quite a coup’ due to the interest there was in signing the 23-year-old midfielder.

“It’s a great signing for us,” said Head Coach Grant McCann.

“He will make a difference in the front three and is versatile in how he can play, off the left or as a 10, sometimes as a nine.

“He’s a clever player and wants to get on the ball, wants to get on the half-turn, wants to create opportunities and wants to score goals.

“It’s three new signings in the last week with Gavin Whyte and Jordan Flores, and we’re really pleased with our business.”

Crowley made 45 appearances for Birmingham, scoring two and assisting five but had fallen out of favour with Blues’ boss, Aitor Karanka. As a result, he had not played since October.

Hull are currently second in League One, three points ahead of Lincoln.

Birmingham, meanwhile, are 18th in the Championship, seven points above the relegation zone.

Crowley never made a senior appearance for Arsenal after signing from Aston Villa and arriving with high expectations. He played for the u18s three times, the u19s 11 and the u23s 36 times.

In total, despite still being only 23, Crowley has played for Willem II, Birmingham City, SC Cambuur-Leewarden, Go Ahead Eagles, Barnsley, and Oxford United as well as Aston Villa’s u18s and Willem II’s u21s.
