Bristol City will be seeking to return to winning ways this weekend in the Sky Bet Championship as they play host to Derby County at Ashton Gate.

The Robins were on the receiving end of a poor defeat last time out as they lost 2-0 to a rejuvenated Sheffield United side at Bramall Lane, with the Blades having clearly received a boost in confidence after the recent appointment of Paul Heckingbottom as their new manager.

As a result of that defeat, Nigel Pearson’s side currently occupy 18th place heading into the next round of fixtures and the Bristol City boss will inevitably be looking for a big response from his side.

They play host to a Derby side who lost out to a last gasp Andre Gray winner in the cruelest of circumstances on Monday as thy lost 2-1 at Pride Park after initially taking the lead through Tom Lawrence.

Here, we take you through our predicted Bristol City starting eleven for their game against Derby this weekend.

Daniel Bentley will once again be between the sticks for the Robins as he seeks to keep only his third league clean sheet of the season.

There will be one change for Pearson’s side with Rob Atkinson coming in for the injured Nathan Baker alongside the likes of Tomas Kalas and Zak Vyner as part of the back three.

In midfield Callum O’Dowda and Alex Scott will once again act as the wide men, with the trio of Han-Noah Massengo, Tyreeq Bakinson and Ayman Benarous patrolling the centre of the park.

Up top Chris Martin should get the nod against his former club as both he and Andreas Weimann continue to keep the likes of Nahki Wells and Antoine Semenyo out of the starting line up.

A victory for the Robins could move them up into the higher reaches of the lower half of the table.
