Despite having been one of the most impressive teams in Spain and Europe last season, there are several changes expected to take place in this FC Barcelona team ahead of the 2025-26 season.
In fact, some of these changes are already manifesting themselves. This is particularly the case with the goalkeeping position, for which the Catalans have made a new signing, Joan Garcia, and their previous starter, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, is facing a highly uncertain future and is being linked with a move away from the club.
Another player who has been linked with a move away from the Blaugrana club in recent weeks is the midfielder Fermin Lopez. Some teams from Saudi Arabia and the Premier League have also been reported to be interested in him.

However, according to Diario AS, Barcelona are now considering the midfielder as untouchable, respecting the wishes of the coach Hansi Flick.
The Spanish midfielder is one of the favorite players of the German coach in this squad, as Flick is particularly impressed by his attitude in training, on the pitch, and in the locker room, irrespective of his playing time.
Despite having played mostly as a substitute of Dani Olmo and Gavi, Fermin impressed quite a lot in the last phase of the last season, and scored the goal against Espanyol that clinched the league title for Barcelona. Before that, he had also scored a great goal against Real Madrid, which was unfortunately ruled out by VAR.
Thus, instead of complaining about his lack of prominence, the young midfielder has taken full advantage of any opportunities that came his way. This is clear from the 8 goals scored and 10 assists provided in only 2000 minutes that he played last season.
Therefore, Fermin Lopez will remain a part of this Barcelona team for the next season, something that cannot be said of other players like Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Andreas Christensen, or Ronald Araujo.
