History

In September 2021, Concacaf announced that from 2023 onwards, three regional cup competitions (Leagues Cup, Central American Cup, and Caribbean Cup) will be played in the fall of each year. These competitions will determine certain qualification spots for the Concacaf Champions Cup.

For the Caribbean, the Confederation introduced a 10-club tournament with a group stage, followed by a direct elimination knockout stage.

SV Robinhood of Suriname won the inaugural edition, 3-0 on aggregate, over Cavalier FC of Jamaica. Cavalier FC returned to the championship match in 2024 to collect its first trophy, winning 2-2 on away goals against Cibao FC.

Champions

  1. Cavalier FC (1): 2024
  2. SV Robinhood (1): 2023

Format

The tournament will kick off with a Group Stage. In this first round, clubs will play every club in their group once, for a total of four matches per club (two at home and two away) in the five scheduled weeks.

The following are the groups for the 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup group stage:

Group A

·      Mount Pleasant FA

·      SV Robinhood

·      O&M FC

·      Central FC

·      Moca FC

Group B

·      Cibao FC

·      Cavalier FC

·      Defence Force FC

·      Juventus de Cayes

·      Weymouth Wales

At the conclusion of the Group Stage, each group's first and second-place finishers will advance to the Knockout Stage. The Knockout Stage will include home-and-away play, starting with the Semifinals, and followed by Third Place and Final, where the champions of the Caribbean will be crowned.

The Semifinal pairings will be determined based on the Group Stage results, with the winner of each group facing the runner-up from the other group (1A vs. 2B and 1B vs. 2A). Also, for the Semifinals, the two group winners will host the return leg matches.

For both the Third-Place match and the Final, the return-leg matches will be hosted by the higher-ranked club in each pairing, determined by the total points accumulated throughout the competition.

Qualification for the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup

The two clubs that reach the Final will automatically qualify for the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup, and the champions will earn a bye to the Round of 16. The remaining spot will be contested between the losing semifinalists in the Third-Place Match.
