Celtic plc’s AGM for 2023 took place today (Wednesday), at Celtic Park, with shareholders attending the event at the stadium.
Peter Lawwell led the meeting for the first time as Celtic chairman, and he was joined by his fellow directors, along with Celtic men’s first-team manager, Brendan Rodgers, and women’s team manager, Fran Alonso.
After the chairman welcomed shareholders to the meeting, a video presentation featuring Peter Lawwell, Chief Executive Michael Nicholson and Chief Financial Officer, Chris McKay, was shown.
In the formal business of the AGM, the 11 Resolutions were proposed by the board. Ten of them were ordinary resolutions, with Resolution 11 being a special resolution.
The first Resolution sought to confirm the Auditor’s Report, the Strategic report and the Directors’ Report for the year ended June 30, 2023.

Resolutions 3 through 7 saw Brian Rose, Dermot Desmond, Tom Allison, Brian Wilson and Sharon Brown re-elected as non-executive directors.
BDO LLP were re-appointed as auditors of the company after Resolution 8, and Resolution 9 granted authority to the Board to determine the Auditor’s remuneration while Resolution 10 granted the Directors a general authority to allot shares and Resolution 11 granted the directors authority to disapply pre-emption rights.
After the formal votes, there was a second video presentation, which featured Peter Lawwell, Michael Nicholson, Chris McKay, Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, men’s first-team manager, Brendan Rodgers, and women’s first-team manager, Fran Alonso.
Following that, there was a question and answer session before the AGM was brought to an end by the chairman, Peter Lawwell.
