Paris Saint-Germain have been incredibly dominating in the French top flight for the last decade.
Lille managed to topple their dominance in the 2020-21 campaign, but the Parisians made a spectacular comeback the following season as they finished 15 points above second-placed Marseille to clinch the Ligue 1 title.
PSG were not entirely convincing with their performances this term as they lost seven league encounters after entering the new year.
But they still pipped Lens to the league crown after drawing 1-1 at Strasbourg in the penultimate game of the season.
Despite sealing a record 11th Ligue 1 trophy, the French giants failed in their main objective of winning the Champions League.
They finished above Juventus in Group H to make it to the knockout stage but fell at the first hurdle, losing 3-0 on aggregate to Bayern Munich in the last-16.
Failure to win the Champions League has cost Christophe Galtier his job, with the 56-year-old replaced by former Spain boss Luis Enrique.
The Ligue 1 season schedule shows the new campaign will kick off on Sunday, August 13, with all teams returning to action.
The Parisians will be aiming to continue their dominance in the French league by performing well in their opening game.
However, other clubs like Olympique Lyonnais, Stade Rennais and Olympique de Marseille will look to end their supremacy.
Lyon will be up against Strasbourg, Rennes will meet Metz and Marseille will square off with Stade de Reims.
But for this month, all the focus will be on the summer pre-season fixtures that will see some of the biggest clubs in action.
