The Premier League is back this weekend with all 20 teams looking to hammer and tongs at each other in what looks set to be another exciting season ahead in this football calendar. Manchester City managed to pip Liverpool by a point in last season’s title race.

Both sides went on to strengthen their teams this summer with Man City hoping to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund while the Reds settled for a new forward of their own with Darwin Nunez joining Jurgen Klopp’s revolution at Anfield.

2022-23 Premier League Season Preview: Another Two-Horse Title Race On The Horizon?

At the moment, it seems like both Man City and Liverpool are way ahead of the other teams as they have got enough strength in depth to sustain a title charge. However, Tottenham Hotspur will fancy their chances of pushing the two title contenders following the arrivals of Ivan Perisic and Clement Lenglet earlier this summer.

Without any UEFA Champions League football on offer, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal might be the dark horse of this title race as they have strengthened their squad considerably in this off-season.

Manchester United and Chelsea are expected to be in the top-four race but could struggle to compete with Man City and Liverpool at the top of the league table.

Teams like Aston Villa, Newcastle United and West Ham United could push for a European spot this season as long as they can find some consistency in the Premier League.

Relegation Favourities?

Newcomers, Nottingham Forest have made a lot of key acquisitions this summer which could make them the most likely to avoid the drop.

However, on paper, Fulham and Bournemouth could both struggle to pick up results in the Premier League this season which makes them the favorites to go down.

Brentford and Leeds United might also get dragged into the relegation dogfight if they fail to make a strong start to this campaign.

Players To Watch Out For This Season

Erling Haaland (Man City)

A lot will be expected of Haaland on his debut campaign in the Premier League. The Norway international is one of the favorites to win the golden boot. Hence, all eyes will be on him to bang in a lot of crucial goals for Manchester City this season.

Darwin Nunez (Liverpool)

Nunez has already made a positive impact at the Merseyside club by finding the back of the net against Man City after coming on as a substitute in the Community Shield final last weekend. He has the potential to become a prolific goal-scorer at Anfield, so the Liverpool fans will have their eyes glued on their new summer acquisition over the next 12 months.

Raheem Sterling (Chelsea)

Sterling decided to make a switch from Man City to Chelsea earlier this summer in the hopes of playing a more prominent role at Stamford Bridge. He is expected to be Thomas Tuchel’s main weapon up top following the loan departure of Romelu Lukaku and could enjoy the freedom of playing as an out-and-out centre-forward this season.

Christian Eriksen (Manchester United)

Eriksen has been Manchester United’s most high-profile arrival this summer after he joined from Brentford on a free transfer. Erik ten Haag would hope that the Denmark international can strengthen his midfield and make a real impact at the Theatre of Dreams this season.

Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal)

Gabriel Jesus has been in red hot form for Arsenal in pre-season. If the Brazilian striker can make a good start to this campaign, there is a real chance that he might be in with a chance to win the golden boot next year.
