West Bromwich Albion will be hoping to build upon the encouraging start that they have made to life under the guidance of Carlos Corberan in the coming weeks.
Since opting to draft in the Spaniard as Steve Bruce’s successor, the Baggies have managed to produce a number of impressive displays in the Championship.
With Albion eyeing a push for a top-six finish in 2023, it will be interesting to see whether they opt to engage in some transfer activity next month.
As well as potentially adding some fresh faces to his squad, Corberan could also sanction departures for existing members of his squad.
Here, we have decided to take a look at two West Brom transfers that could realistically occur in January.
Check them out below…
In: Lamare Bogarde (loan)
A report from Football Insider earlier this month suggested that West Brom were lining up a loan move for Aston Villa defender Lamare Bogarde.
It is understood that Bogarde is also attracting interest from Norwich City ahead of the upcoming window.
The 18-year-old has only made one appearance for the club’s senior side during his career and thus may benefit from a temporary spell at a club like West Brom.
Whereas it may take Bogarde some time to adapt to life in the Championship due to the fact that he has yet to feature at this level, there is no reason why cannot eventually provide a sufficient amount of competition in the centre-back position for the likes of Semi Ajayi, Kyle Bartley and Dara O’Shea.
By learning from Corberan, the defender could go on to make considerable strides in terms of his development while also helping West Brom to maintain a push for a play-off place.

Out: Reyes Cleary (loan)
One of the individuals who could potentially make a temporary exit from The Hawthorns in January is Reyes Cleary.
The Baggies academy graduate has been limited to just four senior appearances this season and will find it difficult to force his way into the side in the second half of the term due to the presence of Daryl Dike and Brandon Thomas-Asante.
When you consider that Cleary has scored an impressive total of 11 goals in seven Premier League 2 Division 2 games for West Brom’s Under-21 side, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if he is already attracting interest from teams in lower divisions ahead of the upcoming window.
By sanctioning a loan move for the 18-year-old, West Brom will allow him to gain some invaluable experience before calling upon his services again in the 2023/24 campaign.
