2 tweaks Mark Warburton could make as QPR host Bristol City | OneFootball

QPR fell to their first defeat of the Championship season on Tuesday evening, losing 2-1 to Bournemouth in a highly-contested affair at The Vitality Stadium.

The R’s sit in 12 points from their opening seven games, a points tally that leaves them in seventh place, and just a point outside the much-desired play-off positions.

Mark Warburton’s side have netted 15 league goals thus far this season, with that total only being bettered by fellow West-Londoners Fulham, who sit at the Championship summit.

QPR host a Bristol City side who have travelled well thus far, picking up six points from a possible nine on the road, and they are also unbeaten in their last three.

Here, we take a look at two tweaks that Mark Warburton could make to his QPR side, ahead of today’s visit of Bristol City…

Luke Amos in for Dominic Ball

Luke Amos has proven to be an extremely gifted footballer in recent years, but his year-long absence has halted his progression somewhat.

The 24-year-old’s technical ability coupled with his intelligence makes him an exciting player for Warburton to welcome back, and whilst he is returning to an even better midfield than when he first suffered his injury, Dominic Ball has played a lot of football at a high intensity in recent weeks.

Amos is a player who can certainly adapt to the new standards that the club have reached over the last year, but he needs the game time to help him reach that point.

Andre Gray for Lyndon Dykes

Lyndon Dykes has been excellent for QPR this season, making it difficult to drop him, especially when it is considered that he has contributed 13 goals in 15 games.

However, Bristol City struggled to deal with Harry Cornick’s pace during the week in their home clash against Luton Town, suggesting that Andre Gray could exploit that again.

Gray has been a nuisance for opposing defenders since joining from Watford and could be rewarded with a start against The Robins.
