Yet to win a game in the Championship this season, it will be interesting to see whether Luton Town decide to engage in some more transfer activity before the window closes at the start of September.

Hatters manager Nathan Jones has already bolstered his squad by securing the services of a host of fresh faces this summer whilst he also opted to part ways with a number of players.

Danny Hylton, Elliot Lee, Kal Naismith, Peter Kioso and Robert Snodgrass have all made permanent exits from Kenilworth Road.

Meanwhile, Aribim Pepple, John McAtee and Carlos Mendes Gomes have been loaned out by the Hatters.

Here, we have decided to take a look at two players who could potentially leave Luton within the next two weeks…

Dion Pereira (loan)

Since returning to Luton following a loan spell at Bradford City earlier this year, Dion Pereira has been unable to make any inroads on the club’s starting eleven for their Championship fixtures.

Left out of the Hatters’ match-day squads for their clashes with Burnley, Preston North End and Bristol City, the 23-year-old could potentially end up watching on from the sidelines for the remainder of the campaign if he stays at the club.

In a recent interview with Luton Today, Jones revealed that he will be make a late decision regarding whether to sanction a temporary exit for Pereira this summer.

For the sake of the winger’s development, the Hatters should be looking to loan him out to a team in a lower division.

By featuring week-in, week-out for another side, Pereira could improve as a player before linking up with Luton again next year.

Harry Isted

Since joining Luton in 2017, Harry Isted has been unable to establish himself as a key player for the club.

Loaned out on five separate occasions by the Hatters, the goalkeeper has only ever made two league appearances during his time at Kenilworth Road.

After losing shot-stopper James Shea to a long-term knee injury, Luton decided to bolster their options in this particular position earlier this summer by signing Ethan Horvath and Matt Macey.

Who did Luton beat in the semi-finals of the League Cup in 1988?

Due to the arrival of this particular duo, Isted has fallen further down the pecking order.

Whereas Horvath and Macey have both been handed the chance to impress this season by Jones, Isted has not featured for Luton.

When Shea does eventually make his return to action, Isted will automatically become Luton’s fourth-choice shot-stopper if he stays at the club.

Taking this into consideration, it could be argued that the keeper should be actively looking to seal a departure between and the end of the window in order to revive his career.
