Coventry City could be expecting another busy transfer window this summer.

Coventry were unable to keep hold of Gustavo Hamer and Viktor Gyokeres, and they could face a similar situation this summer.

The Championship side’s best player has been put on the shoulders of Callum O'Hare, and with his performances getting better and better as the weeks go on, it seems teams are starting to take note.

The midfielder is out of contract in the summer, and he is said to be waiting to see if Premier League teams come with interest before deciding on his future.

So, with his exit a possibility, here at Football League World, we have decided to look at two other players who could follow O’Hare out of the club this summer…

1 Jake Bidwell

Jake Bidwell has been on the books at Coventry City since the summer of 2022, when he joined the club on a free transfer from Swansea City.

The defender has been a strong performer in the second tier for a number of seasons now, after impressing at Brentford before moving to QPR, Swansea, and then the Sky Blues.

The 30-year-old has been a regular in most seasons, no matter which team he has been at, and while that was the case last season, Bidwell seems to be down the pecking order at Coventry now.

Bidwell missed just one game in the entire Championship season last term, during which he scored one goal and recorded four assists.

However, in this campaign, the left-back hasn’t had the same success, as Coventry made improvements to their squad in the summer, with fellow left-back Jay Dasilva joining the club on a free transfer.

That means Bidwell has lost his regular spot in the starting XI, with him finding himself in and out of the team throughout this campaign.

Therefore, with him still under contract at the club until the summer of 2025, Bidwell could potentially leave the Sky Blues this month as he searches for regular football.

Mark Robins may be keen on keeping the defender, but with Dasilva seemingly his first choice at left-back, the club could look to secure a fee for Bidwell before he leaves for nothing in 2025.

2 Ben Sheaf

As Coventry lost Hamer in the summer, the club needed someone to step up to the mark and fill the void left by the Brazilian.

Midfielder Ben Sheaf has definitely done that, as he’s become a vital figure for the club as they look to finish in the top six once again this season.

The 26-year-old has had his injury concerns this season, but when he’s been fit and available, he has started for Coventry.

Sheaf is still under contract with the Championship side, with his deal running until the summer of 2026, but previous interest in the player may resurface this summer.

Premier League side Luton Town were reported to be interested in a deal for the player, but a move never materialised.

Now Luton may not hold an interest anymore, but other clubs could come sniffing, and if the Sky Blues are still in the second tier, they may find it hard to retain the midfielder’s services beyond this campaign.

Furthermore, if O’Hare were to leave Coventry, Sheaf may see it as an opportunity for him to leave as well, as the Sky Blues will be considerably weaker once again.
