Having opted to hand over the reins at the MKM Stadium to Liam Rosenior last month, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if Hull City opt to engage in a reasonable amount of transfer activity in January.
Rosenior will be keen to put his own stamp on the club’s squad by securing the services of players who he believes will be able to make a difference for the Tigers in the Championship.
Currently 21st in the second-tier standings, Hull will need to step up their performance levels in the coming months in order to avoid the prospect of being dragged into a battle for survival at this level.
Ahead of the club’s clash with Blackpool tomorrow, we have decided to take a look at two moves Hull could realistically complete next month…
Malcolm Ebiowei – loan deal
A report from The Sun earlier this month suggested that Hull City are interested in sealing a loan move for Malcolm Ebiowei when the window opens.
It is also understood that fellow Championship side Swansea City are also keeping close tabs on Ebiowei’s situation ahead of a potential swoop.
When you consider that the former Derby County has only made five appearances in all competitions for Palace this season, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if he is allowed to make a temporary exit from Selhurst Park.
Having previously worked alongside Ebiowei at Derby, Rosenior may be able to convince the 19-year-old to seal a move to Hull.
16 occasions in this division for the Rams last season.
Another player who could potentially make a move to Hull is Ryan Porteous.
According to a separate report from The Sun, the Tigers are set to make a bid for the defender as they aim to win the race for his signature.
Porteous, who is also understood to be attracting interest from Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion, Millwall, Watford, Stoke City and Norwich City, recently revealed in an interview with Sky Sports that he is looking to leave Hibernian.

Given that Hull have conceded the most goals in the Championship this season, they clearly need to bolster their options in this particular area of the pitch and thus Porteous could fit the bill.
Currently averaging an impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.00 in the Scottish Premiership for Hibs, the 23-year-old will be confident in his ability to make an immediate impact for the Tigers if they reach an agreement with his current side.
