Fulham have an exciting summer ahead of them following their promotion to the Premier League.

With Marco Silva’s task now to build a squad capable of avoiding an immediate drop back down to the Championship, there are bound to be plenty of incomings and outgoings at Craven Cottage in the coming months.

With that said, for those on the fringes, there could be a nervous wait ahead as they wait to find out whether or not they could lose their place in the Fulham squad for next season.

Here, we’ve picked out two players whose future at the club looks uncertain and whom therefore could be set for an uncertain few weeks ahead.

Joe Bryan

This might be a surprising one given he has been a dependable deputy at full-back but Joe Bryan could certainly be set for an uncertain few weeks considering the transfer rumours that are beginning to swirl.

It has recently been claimed that the Cottagers are in talks over a potential move for Aston Villa full-back Matt Targett.

Left back is not a priority position given Fulham have Antonee Robinson and Bryan on the books, but Targett’s signing would cast serious doubt over one of their futures at the club.

Given that Robinson got the nod as first choice last season generally, and Bryan suffered with injuries, it could be the 28-year-old that makes way if Targett is inbound.

It would be harsh, but it has to be said that Targett’s extensive Premier League experience would make him an upgrade on the former Bristol City defender.

Anthony Knockaert

After an injury hit campaign, another player set for an uncertain few weeks as we enter the transfer market is Anthony Knockaert.

Appearing just four times in the Championship in 2021/22, the 30-year-old could certainly be deemed disposable this summer, and given that he has failed to impress in the top-flight previously, Fulham may decide to try and move him on.

With one year remaining on his current deal, it is their last chance to recoup any cash for the Frenchman, adding even more to the argument that the winger should be sent out of the Craven Cottage exit door in the coming months.

Knockaert has proven himself a handy player in the Championship over the years, but after such an injury hit campaign, you do wonder if any clubs out there will want to take the risk and bring him in.
