The Rob Edwards era is yet to kick off in front of Luton Town fans, with the 39-year-old’s first game in charge set to be an away trip to Middlesbrough a week on Saturday.
It remains to be seen what changes will be made amidst the changing of the guard in Bedfordshire, with Edwards’ season with Forest Green Rovers perhaps somewhat of an indication as to how Luton may operate.
Whilst we wait and see how the Hatters get on up in Teesside, here, we take a look at two former Luton players who would currently suit the way Edwards is set to operate.
Jack Stacey
Jack Stacey enjoyed an excellent spell with the Hatters and was wonderful during Luton’s League One title-winning campaign a few years back.
The flying full-back picked up several assists from the right and developed a great relationship with Andrew Shinnie.
A lot of parallels could be drawn to the success that Kane Wilson saw last season at Forest Green, with the right wing-back’s consistently strong performances earning him a move to Bristol City.

Of course, if Stacey was in this current team, it would be a struggle for him to displace James Bree, with the 24-year-old proving to be a real threat from wide positions.
Cameron Carter-Vickers
Cameron Carter-Vickers played an instrumental part in Luton’s great escape during the 2019/20 campaign and has deservedly continued this progression from then on.
Dominant in almost every defensive capacity and a good ball carrier, that is exactly what the Hatters need right now.
The Hatters lost two defenders in the summer in Kal Naismith and Peter Kioso and have been dealt with several injury blows within their backline during the course of this season.
Bolstering their defensive options is a priority come January, with a Carter-Vickers type player perhaps the perfect option.
