Birmingham City head to Middlesbrough this evening in the Sky Bet Championship as they look to build on their point at Sheffield United from the weekend.
Blues have had a respectable start under John Eustace and have shown that they are motivated and competitive against anyone in the league, which makes them a difficult outfit to deal with.
Indeed, they’ll be looking to show that against Middlesbrough this evening but what dilemmas does Eustace face for this one? We take a look now…
Post Wilder bounce
Middlesbrough saw Chris Wilder leave the club earlier this week and Birmingham will need to be wary of any bounce that gives the players.
Whilst Wilder and the squad didn’t seemingly have any issues, there’s often a bounce after a managerial change and clearly the mood at Boro on the whole between manager and chairman wasn’t great.
Birmingham need to be ready to meet that challenge, then, and do another professional job as they did at Bramall Lane at the weekend.
Of course, against a top of the table, in form Sheffield United side at Bramall Lane, Blues might not have been expecting to create a bundle of chances but they’d surely like to register more than the couple of shots on target they had then at the Riverside tonight.
Blues haven’t been massively prolific this year but they face a Middlesbrough side that has been sloppy in defence at times this season, so Eustace will hope that the team can create and take their chances when they present themselves tonight.
