Borussia Mönchengladbach picked up a point away at Freiburg (2-2) ahead of their Champions League Group Stage match day six meeting with Real Madrid. Rose's side went ahead thanks to Embolo, who latched on to a Stindl through ball to find the back of the net before the hosts turned the scores around. They levelled thanks to Lienhart from a corner on 32’ and then, after the break, Freiburg went ahead when Grifo converted from the spot.
Real Madrid's next opponent hit back quickly and just a minute later, Plea made it 2-2 with a well-struck effort from the edge of the area. The point leaves Borussia Mönchengladbach in seventh place in the Bundesliga, having won four, drawn four and lost two.
