2-1: Juvenil A secure Youth League last-16 spot | OneFootball

This was a high-stakes contest between the Juvenil A side and Inter Milan, with the small matter of the chance to advance directly to the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League as group winners on the line. Real Madrid's youngsters didn't disappoint and delivered the goods in front of the Alfredo Di Stéfano faithful. Our team came out looking for the win and hit the front with just seven minutes on the clock after David converted a penalty that he himself had earnt.

Before the deadlock was broken, both of the teams had a sight of goal. The Inter response came through Abiuso, who unleashed a thunderous shot that Diego palmed away. Now in the ascendancy, the Juvenil A side were dictating proceedings, although the Italians stepped things up with their press and were breaking quickly on the counter.   In a repeat of the first half, the second period was only a few minutes old when a goal materialised. On this occasion, Inter netted to haul themselves level from a set piece on 54 minutes. Our team wasn't about to settle for a point and with 20 minutes remaining, a cross to the far post culminated in Marvel firing the ball over the bar. Hernán Pérez then turned to Aranda, Manuel Ángel, Álvaro and Jiménez, and it didn't take the former to score the winner. Aranda drilled home a stunning strike from range to secure the spoils and send the youth team directly into the Youth League last 16.
