They say that the chance to play for Real Madrid is a train that only arrives once at a player’s station. When such a calling arrives, it is indeed tempting to jump onto the bandwagon without a second thought.

Yet, it is not easy for new players to adapt to the pressure that comes with playing for Real Madrid. The Spanish club are one of the largest sporting institutions in the world and to don the white jersey can be daunting even for the best.

According to reports from Jorge C Picon, Real Madrid target Benjamin Sesko has understood this subtle detail. The striker is overwhelmed by Los Blancos‘ interest in him but feels he is not ready for the step up.

Instead, the RB Salzburg player prefers to take an intermediate step in his career before moving to the Madrid-based club. He is working with his agents to engineer such a move, and his decision will be known in a few days.

Several clubs across Europe have been actively scouting Sesko over the past year including Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid from Spain. At the moment, Manchester United and Chelsea are said to be in the driver’s seat to sign him.

From Real Madrid’s point of view too, it would make sense to wait for the player to blossom completely. One cannot help but think of Luka Jovic who also struggled at the club after making a premature move to Spain.

Last season, Sesko made 24 league appearances for RB Salzburg scoring five goals and providing an assist. This season, he already has a goal and an assist in two games for the club.
