1860 Munich have announced that Hasan Ismaik has sold his shares in the club, ending his 14-year spell in Grünwald.

Ismaik has been the predominant shareholder at 1860 since 2011, and his time was not without controversy. Despite saving the club from bankruptcy, Ismaik has tried to fight the 50+1 rule to gain further ownership of the Grünwald club, as he actually owns 60% of shares at the club, but due to the DFL rules, he only owns 49% of voting rights.

Back in April, he had announced that he wished to sell his shares in the club, and a buyer has now been found. The club says a Swiss family holding company has bought Ismaik’s shares, while all debts have been waived as well.

The new shareholders also bring ambitious plans to the second team in Munich. Not only have they reaffirmed the Grünwalder Stadion as their home, but the stadium will also be renovated to bring it in line with DFL requirements.

On top of this, they also plan to build a new Sports hall in the area to house every aspect of the 1860 Munich sports club.
