Eintracht Frankfurt star Jesper Lindstrom has admitted that Arsenal’s interest in him makes him feel “very happy” as it is a “confidence boost”.

Lindstrom has emerged as a potential target for Arsenal in recent weeks.

Earlier this month, it was suggested that the Gunners were joining a seven-way battle to sign him in January. In the report,

The Denmark international joined Eintracht Frankfurt in 2021 from Brondby.

He shone for the Bundesliga side last term as he grabbed six goals and nine assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.

Lindstrom has also made a bright start to this season as he netted the winner in Frankfurt’s 1-0 win over Marseille in the Champions League group stages.

The 22-year-old has shown his versatility in recent seasons as he is capable of playing on either wing but his natural position is as a central attacking midfielder.

It is understood that Lindstrom joined Frankfurt for around £6m and Arsenal are planning to offer £17m during the upcoming winter transfer window. His current contract expires in 2026.

Fabrizio Romano stated earlier this month that Frankfurt are yet to receive “any proposal or negotiation for Lindstrom”:

“Still, at the moment, I have no confirmation of any proposal or negotiation for Lindstrom,” Romano said.

“Many clubs – also from Italy – have sent their scouts to monitor him as he’s considered a very good player for present and future.

“But no decision has been made by Eintracht about January. It’s still too early to say.”

Lindstrom has now spoken out himself about his future at Eintracht Frankfurt. He has admitted that Arsenal’s reported interest in him has given him a boost:

“It’s a huge confidence boost. It’s one of the biggest things as a footballer, so I’m obviously very happy,” Lindstrom said (via Sport Witness).

The midfielder went onto suggest that he will “see what happens” when it comes to his future but he is currently “fine” at Frankfurt:

“It is hard not to read along when articles appear on your Facebook, Instagram and other social media,” Lindstrom continued.

“So of course, I read it, but I don’t take it too seriously. The transfer window is not open at all right now, so I’m just giving it my all and waiting to see what happens.

“It’s always great to play in the biggest league in the world, but whether Arsenal is right for me is hard to say.

“Right now, I’m in a good place in Frankfurt, but it’s great that there are clubs like them that are watching me. Something may have to happen at some point, but right now I’m fine.”
