It seems that the youngsters of Barcelona do not only make progress at the first-team level. While those players have already reached a level of extraordinary progression, others within Barça continue to climb the ladder as well. The subsidiary of the club, Barcelona Atletic, continues to be home to some of the club’s most promising talents.

One of those players is Marc Bernal, a 16-year-old midfielder who has been described by many as having one of the best projections at the club. However, facing Deportivo in a crucial game for Barcelona Atletic, there was a lot of worry and caution about how the players of Rafa Marquez would perform.

While the team ended up losing to a 1-0 scoreline, a certain midfielder was up for the task at Riazor. As highlighted by SPORT, Bernal was one of the absolute best performers on the field and it was clear to see why exactly Barcelona are so excited about this player’s rise to the top.

Throughout the game, despite the intense pressure of 30,000 fans in the stadium, Bernal stood tall. That was the case not because of his tall stature but instead because of the way he worked with his feet. Technically composed, and physically dominant, Bernal put all of his best traits to good use.

As a consequence, he is now earning himself the respect of the first team as well. With more and more time, he continues to excel and proves that his hype is all justified. Ever since the departure of Sergio Busquets, Barcelona have failed to find an appropriate replacement, and they have looked towards the foreign market to find one.

However, the Barcelona quarry has rarely ever disappointed when it comes to providing cost-efficient solutions who also do not pose much sporting risk. Bernal falls into that category, and he is a proven midfielder with great technical ability, a versatile profile, physical traits, and even the ability to provide goals when needed.

In every way, he is essentially the perfect profile. Others like Marc Casado have also shown themselves to be competent players, but Bernal seems to have the confidence of Barcelona to potentially become a member of the first team at some point. Given his progression, it is not too difficult to see why that is the case.
