Chelsea and Liverpool have both been credited with interest in Sancho, although the Reds can only finance a deal for the forward by selling one of their own stars.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

It feels like Liverpool need loads of cogs to move in order for a deal for Sancho to even be possible. As the previous report explained, Liverpool would need to sell a player like Mo Salah or Sadio Mane to sign Sancho. This means that, firstly, they would need a club with the money themselves to pay for Salah or Mane and then they would need to go through the trouble of negotiating that deal and finalising everything on that side. That could take up a huge chunk of the transfer window and, therefore, give their rivals a huge headstart on the 14-goal forward Sancho.

For example, if Chelsea have the money to sign Sancho now then they could go into a deal knowing that Liverpool are 10 steps behind them. They could have Sancho wrapped up before Liverpool are even able to source a buyer for one of their stars, leaving them with no chance of signing the England international. Although, it must be stressed that it has not been said that Liverpool want to sell Mane or Salah and that Sancho has been mentioned as a target incase one of them departs from Anfield.
