I have been looking at the direct goal involvements (goals and assists) by Newcastle United players this season in the Premier League.
How they have been shared around.
In total, 116 direct goal involvements by Newcastle United players so far across this 2024/25 Premier League season.
There have been 16 different members of the NUFC squad who have contributed at least one direct goal involvement.
Direct Goal involvements (goals and assists) by Newcastle United players in the 2024/25 Premier League season so far (up to and including 12 May 2025):
29 Alexander Isak (23 goals and 6 assists)
20 Jacob Murphy (8 goals and 12 assists)
13 Harvey Barnes (9 goals and 4 assists)
11 Anthony Gordon (6 goals and 5 assists)
11 Bruno (5 goals and 6 assists)
7 Joelinton (4 goals and 3 assists)
6 Sandro Tonali (4 goals and 2 assists)
4 Lewis Hall (0 goals and 4 assists)
4 Fabian Schar (4 goals and 0 assists)
3 Kieran Trippier (0 goals and 3 assists)
2 Dan Burn (1 goal and 1 assist)
2 Joe Willock (0 goals and 2 assists)
1 Will Osula (1 goal and 0 assists)
1 Lewis Miley (1 goal and 0 assists)
1 Tino Livramento (0 goals and 1 assist)
1 Lloyd Kelly (0 goals and 1 assist)
(Newcastle United have scored 68 Premier League goals in total and the totals above add up to 66, as there have been two own goals as well, rather bizarrely both scored by the same player, Marc Guehi scoring for United at both Selhurst Park and St James’ Park. Can any stattos out there tell me if this has ever happened before, an opposition player scoring home and away in the league for Newcastle in the same season?)
It appears to have gone a bit under the radar in the media and indeed amongst many Newcastle United fans, in terms of just how prolific Eddie Howe’s team have been.
As you can see, Newcastle United have now overtaken Manchester City when it comes to Premier League goals, United with 68 and only Liverpool with 83 ahead of NUFC.
Maybe worth pondering as well, just how closely the number of goals scored matches up with the number of points, for those at the top end.
The Premier League top five, when you compare their number of points and goals for each team you find the biggest difference is two, including Newcastle United with 68 goals and 66 points.
