Last Christmas, for every football purchased in the City Store and online, we teamed up with PUMA to donate one to schools in Manchester.

School closures earlier in the year meant that distribution was postponed but thanks to our partners PUMA, 1000 footballs have now been donated to more than 50 schools who are part of City in the Community’s Primary Stars programme.

More than 15,000 children will benefit from this initiative with teachers using these new footballs to incentivise students and increase their daily activity levels.

Jayne Kennedy, Headteacher at Barlow Hall Primary School is extremely grateful for the delivery.

“We were so pleased when CITC arrived with our Puma footballs, a lovely surprise. We have been working hard to increase our children’s activity levels, and these will certainly help our PE lessons and lunchtimes. The children love them, thanks again,” she said.

It didn’t stop there as we also arranged two very special virtual Q and A sessions for two local schools.

Manchester City and England stars Gemma Bonner & Ellie Roebuck paid a virtual visit to Church of England School of the Resurrection in Manchester while City legend Micah Richards brought a smile to the faces of students at Fairfield Community Primary School in Bury.

Stay tuned on our channels to hear how we’ll be sharing a little City magic with those most in need this Christmas.
