100 million! Bayern make mega-bid for Ronald Araujo

Even though Bayern are now in an excellent position in the centre of defence, there could be a shake-up in the defence in the summer. According to the latest reports, Munich are continuing their intensive endeavours to sign Ronald Araujo. According to reports, the German record champions have made a new offer for the Uruguayan.

It is an open secret that Thomas Tuchel wanted to lure Ronald Araujo to FC Bayern this winter. According to rumours, the Munich club made several offers for the 25-year-old defender without success. FC Barcelona vetoed a sale in January.

According to media reports, Bayern were prepared to pay up to 90 million euros, including bonuses, for Araujo. As has now become known, this sum could be topped again in the summer.

Araujo remains a hot topic

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Bayern have made a new offer for Araujo. However, this is not an „official offer“, but a kind of price indication. This was submitted to the Catalans via an intermediary. According to Marca, the sum amounts to 100 million euros.

The Bayern bosses have decided in favour of this scrap so that FC Barcelona can think concretely about selling the 25-year-old.

If the rumoured figures are correct, Araujo could become the new record transfer in Munich’s club history. This title is currently still held by Harry Kane, for whom FC Bayern paid almost €95 million in the summer of 2023.

Bayern are not ruling out XXL investments in the summer

Sport BILD recently revealed that Bayern are quite prepared to make further mega-transfers next summer if they make sporting sense. One thing is clear: if they sign Araujo, FCB would have to part with at least one centre-back. Dayot Upamecano and Minjae Kim are considered potential sales candidates at the Isar.
