It was one-way traffic at Celtic Park as the side in green dominated over 90 minutes of action.

Maintaining control of the ball and eager to break the deadlock, it would not take long for Celtic to open the scoring as a result.

The hosts tested goalkeeper Liam Kelly right from kick off and after he spilled the ball, an alert Kyogo Furuhashi was there to stab home from close range.

However, a small slip-up added a bit of pressure on Celtic.

Motherwell were pushing for an equaliser and a mix-up at the back between Josip Juranović and Joe Hart handed the visitors a lifeline.

The Croatian chested the ball towards his goalkeeper but it wasn’t collected and instead rolled over the line for 1-1.

Therefore coming into the second half, Celtic needed to turn things back in their favour if they wanted to avoid an unnecessary slip-up.

Fortunately for them, their dominance continued throughout the second 45 minutes as Motherwell could not find a way to score on their own account registering only two efforts on target.

Eventually, the hero was Reo Hatate as his long-range effort from outside the box saw the match turn 2-1.

However, the match ended on a sour note when Callum McGregor was sent off in the dying moments after preventing a potential goalscoring opportunity.

The result means Celtic are top of the table with a two-point lead while Motherwell are ninth.
