The transfer window slams shut tomorrow with Premier League clubs stuck with what they have until the summer.
What do they still need to do before the deadline?
The bids for Moises Caicedo have made their intentions very clear. Arsenal need another midfielder, particularly with fears over the severity of Mohamed Elneny’s injury.
Unai Emery has had a productive window to date with the arrivals of Álex Moreno and Jhon Duran but there are links with Marseille’s Mattéo Guendouzi to add some endeavour to Villa’s midfield.
Brentford are in the luxurious position of not really having anything to do this late in the window after bringing in forward Kevin Schade from Freiburg,
The Seagulls are standing firm in their desire to keep Moises Caicedo but they might be called into action in signing a replacement centre-midfielder if the Ecuador international gets his way.
After missing out on a reunion with Arnaut Danjuma, the Cherries appear to be looking to add to their firepower in attack in their fight to stay in the top flight. The Athletic claimed earlier on Monday that the club are seeking a deal for Sassuolo’s Hamed Traore.
Chelsea have signed seven players during this window but they’re not done yet.
A midfield addition is needed and reports claim that the club are going back in for Benfica’s World Cup-winning midfielder Enzo Fernández, who reportedly has a release clause of €120m.
The Eagles are solid at the back and have that little bit of magic in attack but they are lacking creativity and industry in the middle of the park. A move for Stuttgart’s Naouirou Ahamada is likely to go through before the deadline.
After missing out on Arnaut Danjuma, the need for an extra edge in attack is necessary. Coventry striker Viktor Gyökeres has 12 goals to his name so far this season and could compliment Dominic Calvert-Lewin well if Sean Dyche, as expected, plays 4-4-2.
Marco Silva’s side have been one of the surprise packages in the league this season but Harry Wilson hasn’t had the same impact as he did in the Championship, a nice bit of injection of pace to compliment Aleksandar Mitrović in attack.
Leeds have added Georginio Rütter and Max Wöber to their ranks this month, a combative midfielder to play alongside Tyler Adams in the form of Juventus’ Weston McKennie would round off a succesful window.
Brendan Rodgers has brought in Victor Kristiansen and Brazilian winger Tête in recent weeks but their problems from set pieces are still there for all to see. The addition of a commanding centre-back would do just the job, and Stoke City’s Harry Souttar fits that bill quite nicely.
Liverpool’s need for a midfielder is evident, and although links to Sheffield United’s Sander Berge have hotted up in recent days we believe that Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Manu Koné would bring the energy and creativity that the Reds are lacking.
There wouldn’t have been many areas that we could’ve tipped the champions to have improved in but that was until the news of João Cancelo’s shock impending departure broke.
Benfica left-back Alex Grimaldo has the speed, technique and a ferocious left-foot to provide a suitable replacement option for the Portuguese.
Wout Weghorst’s arrival has filled a gap in attack but Erik ten Hag might still need to dip into the market should Christian Eriksen’s injury prove as bad as it looked as he left Old Trafford on Saturday.
A move for Frenkie De Jong might have to wait until the summer but Lyon’s Houssem Aouar is readily available now and could fill the creative gap left by the Dane.
With Jonjo Shelvey heading for Nottingham Forest, a midfield gap needs to be filled. Sheffield United’s Sander Berge has four goals and three assists to his name so far this season, and at 6ft3 would be a commanding presence alongside Bruno Guimarães and Joelinton.
25 incomings in one window is more than enough.
With just 17 goals to their name in 20 league games, Southampton’s need is clear if they are to stay in the top flight – find the onion bag more often.
If they can nip in ahead of Villarreal for Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Díaz then they might have that problem solved.
Antonio Conte has made his feelings very clear – he does not fancy Matt Doherty or Djed Spence at right-back. If they can somehow resurrect the deal for Sporting’s Pedro Porro then they can keep the Italian happy.
With Tomáš Souček out-of-form and Declan Rice likely to leave in the summer, the need for a midfielder is there for David Moyes. Conor Gallagher might be available to leave Chelsea with the influx of new signings at Stamford Bridge.
Wolves’ strikers only have four goals between the four of them so far this season. A late move for West Ham’s Michail Antonio could help solve a real problem issue for Julen Lopetegui.
