Belgium got their first three points of the World Cup by beating Canada 1-0. Courtois played a key role for his side, saving a penalty from Alphonso Davies in the 10th minute. Roberto Martinez's team, also featuring Hazard, stood up to the pressure from the North Americans and scored the decisive goal on the stroke of half-time through Batshuayi. The Real Madrid goalkeeper denied the best of the Canadian chances to guarantee the win, while Hazard was replaced in the 62nd minute.

Belgium moved two points clear at the top of Group F after the draw in the other match. Next up, they take on Morocco on Sunday 27 at 2pm CET. They conclude the group phase against Croatia on Thursday 1 at 4pm CET.
