Arsenal Star Achieves Rare PFA Three-Peat Recognition

The Arsenal trio of Gabriel, Declan Rice and William Saliba were recently selected for the PFA Premier League Team of the Year, with the latter achieving something remarkable. Saliba is now the only player to feature in each of the last three editions, underlining his status as one of the finest defenders in the league.

Saliba’s Consistency Recognised

Saliba has developed into a cornerstone of Arsenal’s defence, thriving alongside Gabriel Magalhães in a partnership widely regarded as one of the best in world football. According to ESPN UK on X, his latest selection makes him the only player to appear in the Team of the Year across the last three campaigns. Even more impressive is that he has achieved this recognition in every league season he has played for Arsenal, beginning with his debut in 2022/23.

His first Premier League appearance came in the opening game of that campaign against Crystal Palace, and since then, he has not looked back. Consistency, composure and quality have made him a firm fan favourite and an undisputed starter for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Real Madrid Links Persist

More recently, Saliba has been linked with a move away from the Emirates. The rumours have centred on Real Madrid, who are long-term admirers of the Frenchman. Arsenal, however, remain determined to keep hold of their defensive leader. His current contract runs until 2027, which still gives the club security, but speculation will persist if he does not commit his long-term future.

For now, Arsenal fans will be delighted to see Saliba recognised once again among the Premier League’s elite, continuing to raise his profile season after season.
