Spurs consider Monaco option if negotiations with Manchester City for Brazilian fall through
Tottenham target Maghnes Akliouche as plan B in Savinho pursuit
Tottenham have reignited their interest in Ligue 1. Maghnes Akliouche is back on the radar for the Spurs. The London club have turned their attention to the Monaco attacking midfielder following the difficulties encountered in signing Savinho.
The French-Algerian playmaker has been proposed as an alternative to Savinho, whose departure from Manchester City remains uncertain. Spurs have submitted two offers for the Brazilian winger, but the Manchester club is demanding nearly £70 million—a figure the London hierarchy considers excessive. As a result, Maghnes Akliouche emerges as a credible plan B in Tottenham's recruitment strategy.
The 23-year-old boasts a versatile profile that appeals to Ange Postecoglou and his technical staff. He netted seven goals across all competitions last season and found the back of the net on Ligue 1’s opening day against Le Havre. Monaco have set his price at £47.5 million, or about €55 million—a significant saving compared to the Savinho deal.
